While we were in Hawaii last month, we had the chance to photograph a gorgeous shoot at the Hotel Wailea with an even more gorgeous couple!  Amie & Cameron are getting married this November, and Amie (who is an actress) is a big fan of Old Hollywood movies, which is the inspiration behind this shoot.  It’s a little Hollywood Glam meets Tropical Paradise!

Their wedding planner Evonne of Events by Evonne did an amazing job of bringing together all the gorgeous details, and I can’t thank her enough for inviting us to join her for this shoot!

I absolutely adore Amie’s engagement ring!

Darla of Darla Marie Designs designed these gorgeous invites!

We thought it’d be fun to change up Amie’s look, so we asked Dan to give her a new ‘do.  The sun was starting to set, but Dan worked amazingly fast and gave Amie these sultry curls in 20 min.  He even worked in a strand of crown flowers from the table decor as a hair adornment!

It took a little convincing, but Sandy eventually talked Bob into getting in front of the camera again for an After Session.  Sandy wanted to get more photos in her dress while she was “still young and could fit into it.”  I had the honor of photographing Sandy & Bob’s wedding a year and a half ago, and it was so fun being able to shoot with them again!  I could definitely tell things were more relaxed for them this time around, and even a reluctant Bob was soon roaming through fields with us and whispering sweet things into Sandy’s ear.

Here’s what Sandy had to say about the After Session:

“After the wedding, I thought about how it would be nice if we had certain shots which we didn’t get to do during the wedding, so when Serena told me about the after-session, I thought it would be a great way to capture some shots in a more relaxed setting. And though I was really hesitant to actually go through with it, I’m really glad I finally did so because now I have more photos that I really LOVE and it was done right before the next stage of my life!”

A great big thank you to Fleuretica & Petit Plume for the beautiful flowers & hair accessories!  Always love working with you girls!

Our second model was the lovely Tana.  When I first arrived at Genie’s house, the girls were still getting hair & make-up done, and the first thing I saw when I walked up the stairs was Tana in this heavenly vintage dress!  I love how big & poofy the skirt is!

I headed down to Condor’s Nest Ranch again recently for a fun little photo shoot with some photographer friends.  We all wanted to get together and shoot some film since it’s been a while for most of us.  I started out shooting film many years ago, but lately my film cameras have just become decorative pieces on my shelf.  So this was a good chance for me to dust off my film cameras, and I also finally got to play with my Holga!  Unfortunately, you won’t get to see those pictures yet because I still have to drop my film off at the lab.  But as soon as I get my processed images back, I’ll share them here!

Every inch of Condor’s Nest Ranch is literally picture perfect!  I am seriously in love with it!  It was a bit rainy that day, and since I’m a wuss, I decided to stay indoors and shoot.  The light in the house is gorgeous, though, because of all the big windows & skylights!  Rzepka & Eyre did a great job styling the shoot, the make-up artists were fab, and all the models were so wonderful to work with!

I brought along my DSLR that day, too, so here’s a little digital goodness for you all!

On the day of Jennifer and Edgar’s wedding, things ran a little behind schedule (what wedding doesn’t run a little late?) and there ended up being very little time & light to shoot portraits with just the two of them.  I was a little bummed we didn’t get a chance to shoot very many bride & groom portraits since that’s one of my favorite parts of the day (and because Jennifer and Edgar both looked sooo good), so I asked them if they’d like to do an After Session.  They said Yes!, and Edgar even rented a tux again for the shoot.  And it just so happens that on the day we shot their After Session, Jennifer and Edgar were celebrating their 4-month wedding anniversary!

I invited a couple of my photographer friends out to come shoot with me that day because I thought it’d be a good chance for us to collaborate & learn from one another.  It’s always fun to see how other photographers work and approach things.  Thanks Alice, Connie, & Jean for joining me that day!  Had a great time shooting with you girls!

I also have to say a great big THANK YOU to Genie of Petit Plume for providing some lovely handmade hair accessories for the shoot, and Euri of Fleuretica for designing the gorgeous bouquets & boutonnieres.

There’s a second couple we photographed that day as well, so stay tuned…I’ll be posting their session soon!
