On the last day of SXSW, the weather in Austin dropped about 40 degrees……can we say FREEZING!?!  More than a little underdressed for the weather, we headed to Rachel Ray’s Feedback Party at Stubb’s BBQ in hopes of finally catching She & Him. After being ever so elusive on Friday, we finally got to see them play!  And thanks to my press badge, I got to be front & center for it all!  Although in all honesty, I think the photo pit is kind of an awkward angle to shoot from.

Later that night we were slightly less successful in getting into Perez Hilton’s party.  There was mass confusion outside as we waited in a line that, as we later discovered, led nowhere!  Darn you, Swagg, for leaving us in the dark….and in the cold!  I mean, c’mon, it was literally freezing that night!  Luckily, my skinny little frozen fingers did not break off like I thought they would.

Out of all the talented musicians we saw at SXSW, these guys were my favorite!  And considering the standing ovation they got at the end of their set, I’m not the only one that thought they were pretty awesome.  You wouldn’t expect a group of guys like them to play the kind of music & instruments they do, and to play it so well!  I especially heart the violin & accordion players!

Friday was another gorgeous day in Austin!  Running mostly on coffee & adrenaline, Michelle & I headed all over Downtown Austin to cover more awesome musicians.  While our two attempts to catch She & Him were unsuccessful, we still caught plenty of other great shows…and took a ride on a pedicab!

My favorite of the day was Swedish band Movits!.  While I couldn’t understand any of their songs because it’s all in Swedish, the guys have such a fun energy to them that I couldn’t help but not love them!

Since the WiFi at our hotel was utter crap, we had to head over to the Austin Convention Center everyday to do our daily posts. Here we are hard at work prepping photos & blogging our SXSW coverage for Aurgasm.

While checking out all the amazing posters at Flatstock, I caught this cool letterpress demo.

The Spin party was madness because Courtney Love & Hole were playing!  It was a bit too crazy & crowded for us, so we got our free drinks and decided to bounce.  Kinda glad we did because we got to see these next guys…and I totally LOVE them!

Day 2 was packed with tons of awesome musicians & bands!  We saw a total of 9 shows!  Most of the night was spent at The Parish for Hotel Cafe’s amazing SXSW line-up.

It’s been a busy few weeks of traveling lately.  I feel like just as soon as I’ve unpacked my bags & done the laundry, I’m packing up again.  And let me tell you, I am not a fan of packing!  It takes me FOREVER!  But I sure do love traveling!!
